Woman Shot At Hospital Dies; Son Recovering:
68-year-old Jesse Prindle Jr. shot and killed 49-year-old Denise Farve in the parking garage of Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Farve was the mother of Prindle’s 11-year-old son Kai Prindle. Kai Prindle was also shot by his own father at that time.
Like most domestically violent cowards Jesse Prindle Jr. took his own life before police could detain him. This allegedly happened because Prindle and Farve were fighting over custody for Kai.
Way to go scumbag. Now Kai has no parents. Rot in hell.
Kai is expected to recover.

There are some who believe, like you obviously, that there is some sort of fucked up, selfish reason to shoot someone dead. Short of self defense, as in in, life or death situation, there is NO EXCUSE to shoot dead your partner and then shoot your own child. NO EXCUSE..get it?! Well all of this cursing back and forth is not called for. Willie, I think you have your story a little twisted in that you say the mother only saw her son 3 times in the last ten years. I know both the mother and father, as I was Kai’s teacher the year of Katrina. The mother and father shared custody and both were at the school on alternating weeks. I have heard the allegations that were made by Mr. Prindle, but I have not actually witnessed any of them. They both appeared to love Kai very much and they both expressed concern for his well being. I am sure that it is frustrating to go through a long court battle, but there must be some compromise on both parties. No one gets everything they want. The courts evidently could not find that she had done anything wrong if they were allowing her to have some visitation. The summer is not forever, I do not understand why this was so hard for Mr. Prindle. He has had Kai since Katrina (2005) and now he wouldn’t let him go for the summer and possibly next school year. That sounds more like some control issues. But either way it is a sad situation and in the end Kai has gotten the short end of the stick because he does not have any parents and he had to witness this horrific event.
My prayers go out to Kai and I pray that the 2 families could find a way to work this out.

Yes Kai will recover; a bullet grazed his arm, I know Jesse, Kai, and the other children very well. It is very sad that it had to end this way but in Jesse’s mind he did what he had to do to protect Kai (everybody who knows the inside facts of this case, knew Kai was never a target). Kai was terrified of Denise; the few times she seen him in the last several years Kai was abused, that is why his father has had custody for many years. He asked Jesse last summer to never make him go back to New Orleans and in Jesse’s mind he had to protect Kai. He was one of the most sweetest men you’d ever meet and she was a monster in my opinion, a mothers love doesn’t hurt and it’s so sad for Kai because wherever you seen Kai you seen Jesse. Everyone can have their opinion but there is a reason this woman has not had custody in years. What kind of mother leaves her child in the hurricane and doesn’t call for months to see if he made it out alive? Denise is her name. No it was not right to take her life but I know I would do ANYTHING to protect my children. The court files are public record in LA and it is thick as a book as well as the child abuse investigation’s.

After reading the post on this website, my heart is heavy and I am having a hard time understanding why people are feuding openly for the world to see. I understand the frustration between the two families, but there is a child in the middle now, and I pray that you all put your anger and emotions aside and reach a level that will allow you to do whats best for him. This is a sad situation but unfortunately it cannot be changed. No one could feel exactly what Mr. Prindle was feeling, and noone will ever know what caused this sudden act. However to go on hating him and his family for what has occured will only get you a oneway pass to hell as well. So my suggestion to both of you, is to pray that God will give you peace, help you to understand why you are apart of it, and lastly to give you the strength to forgive and continue with your lives. Everytime (and the records will show) dee dee won he would come up with more lies and tell kai bad things to say about his mom. Tha Prindle family is really crazy why were you all in Kai business anyway asking about my cousin making him say bad things and constantly reminding him to basically stay in character. Jesse daughter doesn’t deserve to have custody, she needs to just move the fuck on with her life. Her paw ruined that for her. I dont like her or anyway who is related to them. Well if his father is burning hell he has company, and by the way that is not the way Kai feels. I guess the bruises were a fiction of his imagination as well. When all is said and done, Kai will have a choice in where he stays and he has made it very clear that is in Jacksonville.

This whole thing is really getting out of hand. I believe that Kai knows what has happened and that he will need some psychological help to get past this whole ordeal. The fighting back and forth will not solve anything. I know that Mr. Prindle tirelessly tried to get people to side with him, even me. There was no concrete evidence for me to do that. I never saw any signs of abuse on Kai and he attended Bienville since Pre-K. He would alternate between households and it seemed as though both parents loved him. The strain came from the custody battle which Mr. Prindle did not want to lose. It is unfortunate that he thought that the right thing to do was to kill someone else and hisself. We should direct our energy in praying that Kai does well in life. The Prindle family only knows what they were told by Mr. Prindle, and Denise’s family really know who she was and how much she loved her son. My prayer is that the truth would come to the light and that all this mess could be put to rest for Kai’s sake.

Kai was loved by his Mom and she never hurt him! Jesse had some serious issues, unfortunately. He could not have her so he used the kid, plain and simple. He was delusional!!!! We in the NO are hurting and I am sure his family feels even worse because not only is he dead, he is a murderer and THAT IS A FACT!!!

Kai is doing very well and is very relieved at this point, his sister was given temporary custody yesterday and will be returning to court in a few months. Finally someone is listening to Kai.

Well, i really wish him well and he does infact need to be where he is most comfortable. I have been following this whole mess and i check this site every other day. I was very pleased to find an answer to my question. I hope that his sister is a strong person, because this will be a tough one.I dont know what i would do in this situation,but i do know that she should seek help for the family and mostly Kia. He will need help. God bless both families.
