Tribble Sentenced to Life in Prison

by Ashtyn on August 16th, 2007

Today, Stan Tribble was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on a first degree murder charge involving the death of his wife. Tribble killed his wife Tracey in May 2006. Investigators found the body in the Missouri River roughly two weeks after she was listed as missing.

During Tribble’s trial, the prosecutors painted the picture of an abusive husband that had a violent relationship with his wife. The trial ended and Tribble was sentenced to first degree murder back in July. According to Iowa law, Tribble received the mandatory sentence based on his crime.

While Tribble chose not to speak at his own hearing, family members for Tracey Tribble did speak. Among those speaking on Tracey’s behalf were her mother, father, and aunt. All very emotional under the circumstances the aunt said she would always wonder if Tracey knew what would happen to her and if she suffered. The mother was short and sweet, stating that Tribble was the worst thing to happen to her daughter. Finally, Tracey’s dad was interrupted when he said he hoped a prisoner did to Tribble what Tribble did to his daughter.

It was an emotional day for all involved except for Tribble, based on his demeanor. No word has been said on whether he will be appealing the case.
