Man convicted in wife’s crossbow death
Man convicted in his wife’s crossbow death:
47-year-old Kenneth Creamer was convicted of shooting his wife in the chest with a crossbow. In January 2006 the arrow pierced her heart and she died moments later.
Creamer claims it was accident but the jury didn’t buy it considering he shot her with the crossbow once before.
The first shooting happened in September of 2005 when his wife, Anna Creamer, was grazed by a practice arrow.
Hetre is how Creamer claims this was another accident…
Creamer, who appeared jittery when he took the witness stand Wednesday morning, told jurors he thought his wife had given the crossbow away. He testified that he hadn’t seen the weapon, much less loaded it, since it accidentally discharged while he was passing it to his wife three months before the shooting.
Creamer, his voice cracking, described how he had tossed a large Christmas bag behind him while he was cleaning up the garage the morning she was killed.
That bag contained the crossbow, which, he said, struck a refrigerator and fired the razor-tipped bolt into his wife’s back. She groaned and stopped breathing in his arms, he said.
The prosecution argued that there is no way the crossbow could have been possibly cocked and loaded in the bag for four months.
Now I’m the king of unfortunate coincidences but I think Mr. Creamer used up his one time “it was an accident” card.
