Did Missing Mother Lead Double Life?

Paige Birgfeld was reported missing on June 30. The report, which was sent in to the Mesa County, Colorado Sheriff’s department, stated that Birgfeld had never been missing for several days in a row before. Family members that reported Birgfeld missing stated that she was not the type to leave unannounced without telling her children (ages 8, 5, and 3) or the live-in nanny. Investigators searched the family home but there were no clues to her whereabouts.

On the following day, firefighters were called to a vehicle fire in the evening. This was significant because the car was only a short distance from Birgfeld’s home. It turns out that the car was Paige Birgfeld’s vehicle. Police brought in dogs to sniff for evidence, though the condition of the vehicle made it unclear if the fire was the only form of vandalism or if it was used to produce a cover up of information.

The MOMS Club of Grand Junction, Colorado held a candlelight vigil for Paige. Members of the club knew her as a single mother to three children. She was also known for living in a million dollar home. She spent her time with children and was a frequent attendee to school events and club meetings.

People in Birgfeld’s community always thought that she had supported her lifestyle through business endeavors as a Pampered Chef sales consultant and a business owner. However, police have discovered that Birgfeld was living a double life and that there was much more about her than met the eye.

It was discovered that Birgfeld does not have a license to practice acupuncture, which is listed as her main occupation. She was listed as the owner of an Acupuncture business. However, the bigger issue is with her penchant for prostitution, something she is incredibly familiar with according to authorities.

Paige was known as Carrie on NaughtyNightlife.com, a site for escort listings. Carrie was listed as an escort that catered to services for men, women, and couples. She also offered to travel as long as a chartered jet was made available to her. Her services included erotic massage, escort services, private dancing, and group and party settings.

Just a few days before she went missing, she received a review of 4 stars out of 5 on the website mentioned above. The person leaving the review claimed that she was a little pricey, but worth it and that he was “in love.”

The interesting thing about Paige is that she is not the standard model for a future prostitute. Having come from a loving family with plenty of friends and lots of opportunities you would not expect a person like her to become a prostitute. However, in this case that is exactly what happened. As an adolescent, Paige was into ballet. Later, she would head to Florida to study nursing. Eventually she would marry her high school sweetheart, Ron Biegler.

At this point, Paige started stripping at a nightclub. This would last for three years. According to her ex-husband, she began stripping to pay for a breast enhancement. The couple divorced a few years after being married. A year later, Paige was involved with a man she would later marry. The newly married couple purchased the home that she lived in before going missing. In 2006, the couple divorced and Paige was given custody of their three children.

According to Ron Biegler, he and Paige were considering getting back together. He mentioned seeing her on June 28. While she was supposed to call him when she got home, she never called. The police assume that he is the last person to speak with her.

The police and 100 volunteers searched Grand Junction and the surrounding area. In the first few hours, they had discovered over two dozen items that belonged to Paige. One of the items included her check book. All items are being checked for forensic value.

Currently no suspects have been listed in this case.
