A.V.D.
For the past few years I’ve been trying to start a new holiday, Anti-Valentine’s Day. Or A.V.D. for short. Valentine’s day is the biggest rip off in the world. It’s a dumb holiday to begin with. Think about it. People are asking you to prove to them how much you love them by buying them stuff. And the present exchange is always lopsided. Women get jewelry while men get boxer shorts that they wouldn’t wear at their own funeral. Inversely guys always think their girlfriends/wives have to put out on Valentine’s Day. And there’s always some jerk who breaks up with someone on Valentine’s day because they were too chicken to do it any other day of the year. And what about the Valentine’s Day Massacre? That’s not a reason to celebrate. Florists are always jacking up the price of roses. I don’t know about you but I’m far from rich. I can’t afford all this crap. Besides my wife knows I love her 365 days a year. 366 on leap years. So help spread the word about A.V.D. Besides who wants to celebrate something with the initials VD.
